Video Games

It is very upsetting to see how many people are influenced by video games. Reasearch at Germany's Charite University of Medicine suggests that compulsive computer gaming may create an addiction response in the brain that's similar to drug dependence. Out of 673 people 81% own and play videogames. My dad once told me a story about a young man about 18 years old. This boy was well respected in the little town that he lived in. One day for no reason he stole a car. A police officer pulled him over after recognizing the license plate number. The policeman then asked him question at the station. The young man wouldn't responed so the officer started to leave the room. The boy then lept from his chair grabbed the officer gun and killed him. He then dashed down the hall and was told to stop by another officer that had heard the shot. The boy then shot this police officer killing him also. He was then recaptured by three policemen. Before he was sent to jail he admitted to playing a video game called Grand Theft Auto. This game included stealing cars and shooting police. I pray to God that this will never happen again. This story shows what addiction can do to people. It influences them to do evil which the Lord hates.
